Coming Out: A Handbook for LGBTQ Young People
 is guide discussing gender, sexual orientation, and coming out to family & friends. There's also information about self-care, safety & support, and healthy relationships in the LGBTQIA+ community.

The LGBT Life Center is a local organization that provides healthcare, housing, support, advocacy, and more to individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community. As part of their mission, they offer affordable, sliding-scale mental health counseling to individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+.

PFLAG is creating a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them.

SAGE (Services & Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Elders) is the country's largest and oldest non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ older people. Headquartered in New York City with a national presence, SAGE provides supportive services, housing assistance, and community-building programs.


The Trevor Project
 is a hub of resources for discussing mental health, sexual orientations, and connecting with other LGBTQIA+ youth. They also run a 24/7 hotline to speak with a mental health counselor any time.

Social Work Education Center has a variety of articles, podcasts, and videos about LGBTQ+ Life in College.

The Transgender Assistance Program of Virginia (TAP VA) is an all volunteer, trans-led  501(c)(3) non-profit  organization in Hampton Roads. It was created to combat homelessness within the transgender community in Virginia. TAP VA also provides educational opportunities around the important fact that trans rights are human rights by explaining the intersectionality between homelessness, discrimination, socioeconomic status and racism within the trans community in Virginia. 

Our goal is to offer safe emergency housing to homeless transgender adults in Virginia, and to help them find the additional resources they need to remove the barriers to self-sufficiency while we continue to provide education surrounding the issues trans people face on a daily basis.
